Eurythmics' Annie Lennox Has Emergency Back Surgery

Eurythmics isaac Merrit Singer Annie Lennox has had an operation on her spine next complaints of spasms in her back.


Lennox was flown home plate to the UK after being taken ill during an Aids conference in Mexico last week.


Surgeons released an impinged nerve during the operation, a spokesperson for the singer aforesaid.


Writing around the functioning on her blog, Lennox said the injury had caused �more pain that I've ever experienced in my life.�


She added that her left wing foot, which was let numb by the spasm, felt �like a drained fish, freezing and numb".


The release of the singer's forthcoming retrospective, which features a song dynasty written by Keane's Tom Chaplin, has now been postponed until 2009.
